Hinterland Music Festival is a multi-day music fest held at the Avenue of the Saints Amphitheater inSt. Charles, Iowa, which was first held in 2015. The fest occurs annually in August and is the largest music fest in Iowa.
In addition to live music, Hinterland features art, craft sellers, and camping.
The fest is organized by Sam Summers, owner of an original music venue and booker for a musical series.
Water Works Park, located along the Raccoon River four long hauls southwest of Town Des Moines, was set to host for the first time. Its initial edition, still, was moved toSt. Charles, twenty country miles to the south, due to flooding enterprises at the demesne.(It drew a crowd of 14,000 over the two days.) For 2016, the fest advertised plans to return toSt. Charles.
The jubilee expanded to three days in 2019.
Hinterland was canceled in 2020 due to COVID- 19 enterprises.
The 2022 jubilee added a fourth day before spanning back to three days in 2023.

Iowa fest Hinterland has unveiled its 2023 lineup, with principals Bon Iver, Zach Bryan, and Maggie Rogers. The fest goes down August 4- 6, 2023 at Avenue of the Saints Amphitheater in Saint Charles, Iowa. Tickets are on presale now, and general trade starts Friday(11/4) at 9 am CDT.
Hinterland’s Friday(8/4) lineup includes Bon Iver, Sylvan Esso, Houndmouth, The Regrettes, and Skeggs.
Saturday(8/5) will feature Zach Bryan, Orville Peck, Angel Olsen, Noah Kahan, The Teskey Sisters, Joy Oladokun, Wilderado, Patrick Droney, Riley Downing, Pony Bradshaw, and Koo Koo Kanga Roo.
The jubilee closes Sunday(8/6) with sets by Maggie Rogers, Wallows, Faye Webster, Del Water Gap, Tomberlin, slip tab, and Yot club.
