Ryan Mallett: Former NFL Arkansas QB Died at 35, Death Reason Revealed

NFL is mourning the loss of Ryan Mallett who dies at 35 on Tuesday 27th June 2023. Ryan Mallett was the former NFL and Arkansas quarterback. Mallet at the time of his death was working as a head football coach in White Hall High School coaching staff. The White Hall School District has paid tribute to Mallet in their statement which reads:

“It is with great sadness that we share the loss of Coach Ryan Mallett. Coach Mallett was a beloved coach and educator,”

 “We ask that you remember his family, team, students, fellow coaches, and the White Hall School District staff in your prayers.”

Soon after his demise condolences have been paid to the NFL player from the clubs he played for, his friends, relatives, and his loved ones. The NFL also paid tribute to Mallett in their statement released on Twitter stating that,

“The NFL family is deeply saddened by the passing of Ryan Mallett. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones.”

Ryan Mallett’s Death Reason Revealed

The tragic incident that happened along Florida’s Gulf Coast has taken away the life of the NFL QB Ryan Mallett. According to the statement released by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Mallet died due to drowning. As per the investigation reports Mallett was stuck on a sand bar and while making efforts to get back on the land he drowned. The statement that confirmed his death reason reads:

“A tourist died in an apparent drowning offshore of Gulf Shore Drive in Destin,” the statement reads. “A group of individuals was reportedly struggling offshore when a man went under. He was not breathing when lifeguards found and pulled him out. Tragically lifesaving measures weren’t successful.”

The OCSO later made their confirmation that the man was identified as Ryan Mallett. As per the reports Mallet was immediately taken from the beach in Destin, Florida to a nearby local hospital but was declared no more.

Ryan Mallett, the American football quarterback was born on June 5, 1988, in Batesville, Arkansas. His father and mother both are teachers and he had an elder sister, Lauren. In his career as a backup player, Mallett played for teams including England Patriots, Baltimore Ravens, and Houston Texans. He played seven seasons in the NFL. After his retirement from his professional career, he becomes the assistant coach at Mountain Home High School in Mountain Home, Arkansas, and recently become the head football coach at White Hall High School. 

Ryan Mallett’s Professional Career Details

Mallett decided to attend the University of Michigan, where he continued to impress with his exceptional talent. He made 11 appearances as a backup to Chad Henne and was transferred to Arkansas after the retirement of coach Lloyd  Carr. He then started as a sophomore and junior with the Razorbacks. While paying for the Patriots he played as a backup to Tom Brady and the team traded him to the Texans and made nine appearances for the team. In 2017 he signed with the Ravens and made eight appearances. On September 10, 2019, Mallett following a car accident was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence in Arkansas.
