Originally Created by Elise Doganieri and Bertram van Munster, first aired in 2001 in the United States and has earned thirteen Primetime Emmy Awards, ten of which are Outstanding Reality-Competition Programs. New Zealand Emmy Award-nominee Phil Keoghan hosted the series since its inception.

 

The Amazing Race is split into Legs, where teams are asked to discover clues that lead them to foreign areas that often highlight aspects of local Culture, History, and Economy. The teams travel by different means like Aeroplanes, Trucks, Cars, Trains, Buses, Boats, and sometimes by Foot. The elimination in the end is concluded by the last team’s arrival at the designated Pit Stops until only three remain. The First team to arrive at the finish line is awarded the Grand prize of $1 million.
