Ryan’s Early Life and Education 

Ryan is a son of Thomas who worked as a salesman for a paper mill and Donna who worked as a secretary. Ryan was educated at Gladstone Public School, Cornwall Collegiate and Vocational School, and Lester B. Pearson High School. As a child, he use to watch “Dick Tracy” and was inspired from there to become an actor. When he was in elementary school he was bullied and he had no friends till he turned 14 or 15. He developed an idiosyncratic accent as he thought having a Canadian accent didn’t sound tough. Ryan dropped out of high school at the age of 17 and started focusing on his acting career.

Ryan Co-owns Tangine a Moroccan restaurant in Beverly Hills, California. From 2002-2003 Ryan dated his co-star in Murder by Number ” Sandra Bullock”. Acting Career

In 1993, 12-year-old Gosling attended an open audition in Montreal for Disney Channel’s ‘The Mickey Mouse Club’. He was given a two-year contract as a mouse-keeper and moved to Orlando Florida. He was not so active onscreen as other children were considered more talented than him. At the age of 18, he moved to New Zealand to film the Fox Kids adventure series Young Hercules as the title character. 

At the age of 19, Ryan decided to go for serious acting. After his work in the football drama “Remember the Titans” where he worked as a supporting actor he secured a lead role as a young Jewish neo-Nazi in 2001 “The Believer”. The film won the “Grand Jury Prize” at the “Sundance Film Festival”.

In 2002, Ryan co-starred in the psychological thriller “Murder by Numbers” with Michael Pitt and Sandra Bullock where Ryan and Pitt portrayed a pair of high school seniors who believed they could commit perfect murder. Bullock played the role of investigator. His second appearance was in 2002 in “The Slaughter Rule” with David Morse. In 2003 Ryan appeared in “The United States of Leland” where he played the role of a teenager imprisoned for the murder of a disabled boy.

In 2004 Ryan gained mainstream attention from his work in “The Notebook” where he worked opposite of Rachel McAdams. He worked for many films till 2018 and disappeared for 4 years.

After 4 years break Ryan kicked started his career by working in a spy-action thriller film “The Gray Man” opposite Chris Evans and Ana de Armas. In the following year, he starred as Ken in Greta Gerwig’s fantasy comedy “Barbie” opposite Margot Robbie in the main role.

Music Career

In 2007 Ryan made a solo recording called “Put Me in the Car”. In the following year, Ryan and his friend Zach Shields formed the Indie Rock band “Dead Man’s Bones”. They recorded their debut album with the “Silverlake Conservatory’s Children’s Choir” and learned to play all instruments themselves. And from there he wrote many albums and recorded them.
