Michael G. Moye and Ron Leavitt developed the American sitcom Married… with Children for Fox. It is the longest-lasting live-action sitcom to have aired on Fox, having debuted on April 5, 1987, and continuing until June 9, 1997. The first primetime show to air on the new Fox network was Married… with Children. The episode that aired on May 5, 1997, marked the conclusion of the show’s run. June 9, 1997, and June 18, 2002,

The sitcom, which is based in Chicago, centres on the lives of four characters: Al Bundy, a former high school football player who now works as a hard-luck women’s shoe salesman; his slothful wife Peggy; their attractive but dim-witted daughter Kelly; and their smart-aleck son Bud. Al finds their neighbours, the stuffy Steve and Marcy Rhoades, irritating as well, but the Rhoades have the same feelings about Al. Jefferson D’Arcy, a white-collar criminal and Marcy’s “trophy husband” who gets married later in the series, is Al’s sidekick. With eleven seasons and 259 episodes, the show is among the longest-running sitcoms in American television history. The theme music for the 1955 television series Our Town is “Love and Marriage,” sung by Frank Sinatra and featuring Sammy Cahn and Jimmy Van Heusen.
The show’s first two seasons were captured on camera at the Hollywood location of ABC Television Centre. The final three seasons were recorded at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, while seasons three through eight were recorded at Sunset Gower Studios in Hollywood.
