Despite the demand for the renewal season, The 100 TV series is unfortunately not coming. TV series creator Jason Rothenberg, in an interview with Deadline, shuts down all the rumours circulating about the possibility of season 8. He clearly denies it when asked about the coming of the new season.

Additionally, it makes it clear that there are only seven seasons totalling 100 episodes, and an eighth season is not currently planned. Fans of the show are obviously disappointed by the news, but all we can do right now is hold out hope that the producers will change their minds soon so that we can watch the upcoming season. Despite everything, the eighth season is still being made, according to the rumours.

The 100 TV Series Profile Summary

Despite the fact that Jason Rothenberg’s CW series has never achieved popular recognition, it has amassed a fervent and devoted fan base as a result of its thrilling turns and endearing, multicultural characters. What started out in 2014 as a tale of 100 teenagers who had been raised in space and were returned to Earth 97 years after a devastating nuclear war has developed into a tale about the extent to which humans will go in order to survive, no matter the cost.

Is The 100 Season 8 Coming or Not?

Well, no confirmation has been made for the renewal of season 8 by any of the series production teams hinting towards the cancellation of The 100 Season 8. But the issue that I’m sure also crosses your mind is why the show was cancelled despite having a sizable fan base. The simple reason, according to us, is the long-running course of seven seasons and 100 episodes created a complex plot and cast of characters, resulting in dwindling viewership or other practical problems.

Fortunately, neither of these situations occurred during The 100’s last season. The 100 Season 8 was not produced, but showrunner Jason Rothenberg had the good fortune to end the series when and how he chose. He also told Collider that The 100 season 7 was the ideal time to wrap things up.

He continued by saying that if he had wanted to, he believed the studio would have permitted them to go into The 100 season 8, but seven seasons felt like a lot of time to devote to telling a single tale about a single group of individuals.

Is Stopping The 100 Season 8 a Blunder?

The 100 season 7 presented the audience with so much material that a significant suspension of disbelief was necessary, such as the introduction of extraterrestrial life and higher beings. But if that had been exposed gradually over a few seasons, it would have been much better worked out and had a more obvious goal.

Rothenberg may have made a mistake by finishing the series before The 100 series 8, even though having the series conclude the way its creator planned is ideal for any show.
